Skechers Scrubs Review: Comfort, Stretch and Value
Skechers by Barco is a value-focused scrub line with a large current assortment, but "Skechers fabric" now covers more than one construction. Core styles use recycled-polyester stretch blends, while Skechers by Barco Slip-ins includes different knit fabrics and silhouettes.
The review uses Barco's current catalog. EIPNARE has not performed a long-term Skechers wear test and does not claim personal experience.
What the current catalog includes
Barco currently lists women's and men's Skechers scrub tops, straight pants, tapered pants, joggers, jackets, prints and newer Slip-ins styles. Many core pants offer regular, petite or tall lengths. Prices at the time of review place many tops in the $20s and many pants from the upper $20s, before sales.
Price and inventory change. Compare the full set and the exact style number rather than using one promotional listing as a brand-wide price.
Recycled content needs a style-level check
Barco says Skechers by Barco uses recycled polyester made from plastic bottles. The Essence print top currently lists 54% polyester, 40% recycled polyester and 6% spandex, with four-way stretch. A current Slip-ins Rebound pant instead lists 86% nylon and 14% spandex.
Those examples show why the care label matters. Recycled content, stretch direction and fiber percentages are not identical throughout the brand. Environmental claims should also be read as the manufacturer's statements unless supported by a product-specific certification.
Fit and rise vary
The assortment includes low-, mid- and standard-rise pants, along with classic, shaped, slim and relaxed fits. Choose the rise before the size. A low-rise jogger may not give the seated coverage of a mid-rise straight pant even when both are the same letter size.
Measure waist and hip, then use the product fit guide. Test sitting, a long stride and stairs with the pockets loaded. Check that the cuff or hem finishes safely above the shoe.
How real review data informs the test
EIPNARE analyzed 666 Amazon reviews of its own products posted from April 4, 2025 through April 21, 2026. Fit or sizing appeared in 54.8%, softness in 45.8% and pockets in 19.1%. These percentages do not describe Skechers.
They show why comfort cannot be reduced to fabric stretch. Waist security, rise, pocket load and length affect whether a scrub remains comfortable through repeated movement.
Moisture, anti-static and quick-shed claims
Some Skechers by Barco product pages list moisture-wicking, anti-static or quick-shed properties. These are style-specific manufacturer claims. Check the exact listing rather than assuming every Skechers garment has them.
Quick-shed fabric may be helpful around pet hair or lint, but test the actual surface with the material encountered in your workplace. No retail garment claim replaces required protective clothing or infection-control steps.
Value and first-wash checks
Skechers by Barco may suit someone who wants many colors and length choices at a moderate price. The value is strongest when the rise and silhouette are right without alteration.
Before buying several sets, wash one according to the care label. Check color transfer, seam twist, pilling, shrinkage and recovery at the knee and waistband. Save the style and color code for accurate reordering.
